Traditional Timber Shutters
Original shutters may suffer from damaged hinges, split timber, loose joints, missing ironmongery or layers of paint that prevent them operating correctly. In other properties the shutters have been fixed shut or partly concealed by later alterations.
Repairing Existing Features
Where practical, we aim to retain and repair existing shutter components rather than replace original material unnecessarily. The exact work depends on the construction and condition of each shutter set.
Work Alongside Sash Window Repairs
Shutter repairs can be considered at the same time as sash and case window restoration, glazing or draught-proofing. Coordinating the work can be useful where access to the window recess is required.
